A coreless motor is a unique DC permanent magnet servo micro motor that features an ironless rotor, a design that gives it a number of significant advantages. These advantages include:
First, coreless motors excel in energy conversion efficiency, which is often considered an important indicator of their energy-saving characteristics. Generally speaking, their efficiency can reach more than 70%, and some high-end models can even reach more than 90%. In contrast, the efficiency of traditional iron core motors is generally between 15% and 50%.
Second, these motors have very fast starting and braking speeds and quick response. The mechanical time constant is usually less than 28 milliseconds, and some models can even be completed within 10 milliseconds. Within the recommended operating area, sensitive speed regulation can be achieved even at high speeds.
Third, coreless motors also have good operating stability. They have strong adaptability and can maintain a stable speed under various conditions, and their speed fluctuation range is usually controlled within 2%.
In addition, these motors have relatively little electromagnetic interference. The use of high-quality brushes and commutator structures can effectively reduce commutation sparks and avoid the need for additional anti-interference devices.
Finally, hollow cup motors have a high energy density. Compared with iron core motors of the same power, their weight and volume can be reduced by one-third to one-half. Its speed-voltage, speed-torque, torque-current and other parameters all show a standard linear relationship, which is convenient for precise control and adjustment.
