1. Overload Capacity Performance

Coreless motors, due to their coreless rotor design, have extremely low rotational inertia, allowing for rapid response to load changes.

• Short-term overload: Can withstand several times the rated current (typically 3-5 times), such as instantaneous impacts on robot joints or rapid ascents in drones.

• Heat Management: The absence of a core reduces heat generation, resulting in a slower temperature rise during overload and maintaining performance for a short period.

2. Limitations

• Power Limitation: Rated power is relatively low (generally below 500W), and prolonged overload can easily lead to magnet demagnetization or winding damage.

• Weak Continuous Overload Capacity: Overload time is typically limited to a few seconds; otherwise, performance may degrade due to overheating.

3. Comparison with Traditional Coreless Motors

- Short-term overload response speed is faster than coreless motors (such as DC brushed motors), but due to lower torque density, the absolute overload torque value is smaller.

- More suitable for scenarios requiring high-frequency start-stop and dynamic response (such as medical devices and precision instruments), rather than heavy-load continuous operation.
