The commutation of brushed DC motors has always been achieved by contacting graphite brushes with the ring commutator installed on the rotor. The brushless DC motor uses the Hall sensor to feed back the rotor position to the control circuit, so that it can know the exact time of the motor phase commutation. Most brushless motor manufacturers produce motors with three Hall effect positioning sensors. Since brushless motors have no brushes, there are no related interfaces, so they are cleaner, less noisy, and in fact require no maintenance, and have a longer life.

Secondly, brushless DC is manufactured based on the principle of AC speed regulation. In terms of performance, it has both the large starting torque of DC motors, stable speed and convenient speed regulation, and the simple structure of AC motors without wearing parts (no carbon brushes of DC motors)

Third, price. Because it requires a special drive circuit to drive, the price is about 3 to 4 times higher than that of ordinary DC motors.

Fourth, technical level. Because most brushless DC motors have their own drive circuits (speed regulation is possible, of course, there are also constant speed ones), so to drive it, you only need to connect it to the rated voltage and input the speed regulation PWM signal. This does not require the addition of a dedicated drive circuit. In addition, the DC brushless motor has a Hall element for feedback, so the speed is almost stable and constant.
