Planetary reducers are a common mechanical transmission device, widely used in various fields, such as: mechanical equipment, mechanical manufacturing, automation equipment, food machinery, conveyor belt devices, etc. Understanding the parameters of planetary gear reducers is crucial for the correct selection and use of the equipment. Next, we will introduce the main parameters of planetary reducers and the parameters that need to be noted when connecting planetary reducers to motors.

It is well known that planetary gear reducers are widely used in stepper motors, servo motors, and precision transmission systems due to their unique characteristics: high precision, small size, high transmission efficiency, wide deceleration range, and many other advantages. Their function is to reduce the load/motor moment of inertia ratio and reduce the speed to increase torque under the premise of ensuring the precision transmission of mechanical equipment.

When connecting a servo planetary reducer to the corresponding servo motor, the most important thing is to confirm the parameters and then confirm the corresponding model. In general, the following points should be confirmed:

Rated output torque: The rated output torque of the adapted motor multiplied by the reduction ratio of the reducer is the output torque of the reducer. The torque should be equal to or less than the rated output torque of the reducer. It can also accelerate the torque. The acceleration torque refers to the maximum torque allowed to be loaded to the output end for a short time when the working cycle is less than 1000 times per hour. When the working cycle is greater than 1000 times per hour, the impact factor must be considered. The acceleration torque is a maximum value when selecting the periodic working system. The acceleration torque in actual use must be less than the acceleration torque.

Rated input speed: The driving speed of the planetary reducer. If the planetary reducer is directly connected to the motor, the speed value is the same as the motor speed. The rated input speed in this article is measured under the condition of an ambient temperature of 20 degrees. Please reduce the speed when the ambient temperature is high.

Allowable input shaft diameter: The input shaft hole of the reducer and the output shaft of the motor are generally connected through a sleeve with variable thickness. When the sleeve is not added, the input shaft hole of the reducer is the maximum value.

After meeting the main data, select the model of the planetary reducer. The reducer with a small outer diameter can be equipped with a motor with a large outer diameter. The opposite is also possible. Select a suitable connection flange to ensure the correct connection between the motor and the reducer.

The four important dimensions of the selection of planetary gear reducers are determined based on the ratio of motor speed to final output speed, the ratio of final output torque to motor torque, and the ratio of mechanical rotational inertia to motor rotational inertia. Secondly, the rated bearing torque of the servo motor is determined. The final output torque of the motor must be less than the rated torque of the reducer. Select the appropriate accuracy according to the needs. Finally, confirm the installation of the motor and reducer according to the drawings. If you choose the reducer according to the above steps, you can choose a suitable servo motor, so that it can maximize its corresponding role.
