Preliminary Analysis of 775 Brushed and Brushless Motors
The 775 motor, as a common power unit, is widely used in equipment across various industries. Among them, the 775 brushed motor and brushless motor are two common types. The following is a preliminary analysis of these two types of motors, primarily based on a standard 12V/24V power supply.
I. Similarities
Output Shaft Specifications: The standard output shaft diameter for both 775 brushed and brushless motors is φ5, and the diameter and length can be customized according to customer requirements.
Voltage Range: Both motors typically operate at 12V or 24V, but customized voltage parameters are also acceptable.
Bearing Type: Both 775 brushed and brushless motors typically use double ball bearings to ensure smooth operation and durability.
Gearbox Matching: Both motors can be matched with various gearboxes to meet the reduction requirements of different application scenarios.
II. Differences
Housing Dimensions:
The brushed 775 motor has a diameter of 44.5mm and a length of 67mm.
The brushless 775 motor has a diameter of 42mm and a length of 60mm. Therefore, the brushless motor is more compact in appearance.
Speed Control Method:
The brushed 775 motor primarily achieves speed control by adjusting the voltage.
The brushless 775 motor can achieve speed control through both voltage adjustment and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). PWM speed control makes the brushless motor more flexible and precise in speed regulation.
Performance Characteristics:
Brushed motors, due to their relatively simple structure, typically have higher torque and power, but a relatively shorter lifespan and higher noise.
Brushless motors replace the traditional mechanical commutator with an electronic commutator, thereby improving motor lifespan and reducing noise. At the same time, brushless motors also have higher efficiency and a wider speed range.
Functional Configuration:
Brushed 775 motors can be equipped with Hall encoders for signal feedback, but typically lack PWM speed control and electronic braking.
Brushless 775 motors, on the other hand, can have built-in or external driver boards, providing PWM speed control, FG signal feedback, and electronic braking. These features make brushless motors more flexible and precise in control.
Steering Control:
Brushed 775 motors can switch directions simply by switching the positive and negative terminals.
Brushless 775 motors require an additional wire for direction switching, increasing control complexity but also providing a more flexible control method.
III. Torque and Power
Generally, brushed motors have greater torque than brushless motors of the same diameter and length. Because 775 brushed motors are longer than brushless motors, they can achieve even greater torque and power under the same conditions. This gives 775 brushed motors an advantage in applications requiring high power output.
