Planetary reducers are widely used in servo, stepper, and DC motor transmission systems due to their small size, high transmission efficiency, and high precision. Under the premise of ensuring precise transmission, the main function of planetary reducers is to reduce speed, increase torque, and reduce the inertia ratio of load-level motors. So do you know how efficient a planetary reducer is? What are the factors that affect its transmission efficiency?
1. What is the efficiency of a planetary reducer?
The driving efficiency of a planetary reducer is determined by the reduction ratio output by the gear stage. The stage of a planetary reducer is composed of an independent reduction gear train consisting of a sun gear and its surrounding planetary gears. If there is only one gear train in the reducer, we call it "one stage (stage)". In order to obtain a larger reduction ratio, multiple stages (stages) are required to drive. Since one set of planetary gears cannot meet a larger drive ratio, sometimes two or three sets are required to meet the user's requirements for a larger drive ratio. Due to the increase in the number of planetary gears, the length of the two-stage or three-stage reduction stage will increase and the efficiency will decrease. The number of stages of planetary reducers is different, and the driving efficiency is also different. Usually, it does not exceed three stages. The smaller the number of stages, the higher the driving efficiency, and vice versa:
The first-stage (single-stage) driving efficiency is 98%;
The second-stage driving efficiency is 98%×98%;
The third-stage driving efficiency is 98%×98%×98%.
2. What are the factors affecting the transmission efficiency of planetary reducers?
The transmission efficiency of planetary reducers is actually related to oil leakage, grease, heat generation, etc. of the equipment. Transmission efficiency is also one of the important evaluation indicators of the equipment. To test the transmission efficiency, professional equipment is also required, because it is difficult for customers to measure specific data by themselves. In other words, the data tested by customers themselves is much less accurate than the data tested by professional equipment. However, it is still possible to make a horizontal comparison. The heating of the equipment is an intuitive way of comparison. Junior high school knowledge tells us that energy is conserved. The gradual increase in heat means that more power of the motor is used to remove friction, so the output power is naturally less. With less output power, the load capacity is naturally weak, there is no force, the acceleration is naturally small, and the beat is naturally slow.
In other words, the transmission efficiency of the planetary reducer is actually related to the working efficiency of the equipment. A reduction in transmission efficiency means that the working efficiency may slow down, which is a loss for the production company. Therefore, when purchasing this equipment, we still need to consider many aspects. Even an inconspicuous detail factor may have a certain adverse effect on the equipment. We must pay attention to this problem!
