Brushless stepper motors are widely used. Brushless stepper motors have power-off brakes and power-off brakes. How to distinguish these two motors, and how to use the motors with power-off brakes? Today, stepper motor manufacturers will share with you how to use stepper motors with power-off brakes.

Generally, the brushless stepper motor will not self-lock when it is powered off, but only when it is powered on. To achieve self-locking when power off, a braking device (braking device) needs to be installed at the end of the stepper motor, that is, a stepper with power off braking. engine. Stepper motors are used to move the structure up and down. When it energizes and stops running, it uses the standstill moment at the stop to hold the working objects in position to prevent them from falling. However, when the stepping motor fails to supply power, such as a power failure, the position of the working object cannot be maintained, so it may fall. If you want to keep making profits and keep the job from going down, you have to consider turning off the power to the stepper motors.

The difference between a stepper motor with a power-off brake and a stepper motor without a power-off brake:

Non-power-off braking: when the equipment is powered off, it will lose its holding force;

When used to move structures up and down, workpieces may fall.

With power-off brake: when the equipment is powered off, it can still maintain the holding force;

When the structure moves up and down, the workpiece will not fall.

The brakes are divided into permanent magnet brakes and spring mechanical brakes. Compared with the spring mechanical brake body, the permanent magnet brake body has the advantages of long service life, fast response and large holding force. Due to the large inrush current when the brake is started, it is necessary to control the switch of the brake through a relay. Fangyou Technology's closed-loop and open-loop drivers use the alarm output signal to control the brakes. The specific wiring diagram is as follows:

There are many types of brushless stepper motors, and we can choose a suitable stepper motor according to different application environments.
