When to use a deceleration stepper motor

A deceleration stepper motor is a stepper motor with a reduction gearbox. The most common purpose is to increase the output torque of the motor without significantly increasing the size of the motor flange. When selecting a model, the two main parameters of torque and speed must be considered first. The torque and speed of the deceleration motor are often determined by the bearing capacity of the reduction gearbox rather than simply based on the torque of the motor x the reduction ratio. Compared with stepper motors, the reduction gearbox is often the weakest link of domestic manufacturers. The reduction gearbox is often prone to problems such as vibration, noise, and life.
In addition to torque, there are other reasons for using a deceleration stepper motor. For example, the reduction ratio is used to avoid the resonance point of the system; when the load moment of inertia is too large, the reduction gearbox is used to make the moment of inertia of the motor and the load have a reasonable match to avoid overshoot when the load stops; the reduction ratio is used to reduce the step angle.
