Before reading the article, we must first understand the basic information of the DC motor. For example, what are the excitation methods? The excitation mode refers to the way in which the magnetic field is generated in the rotating electrical machine. The excitation mode of the DC motor is divided into four types:
1, he excited DC motor
The excitation winding has no connection relationship with the armature winding, and the DC motor that is powered by the other DC power supply is called the separately excited DC motor. The permanent magnet DC motor can also be regarded as the excitation or self-excited DC motor, which is generally called excitation. The way is permanent magnet.
2, shunt DC motor
The excitation winding of the DC motor is connected in parallel with the armature winding. As the shunt generator, the terminal voltage from the motor itself supplies power to the field winding. As the shunt motor, the field winding and the armature share the same power source. In terms of performance, it is the same as the excitation DC motor.
3, series excitation DC motor
After the field winding of the series-excited DC motor is connected in series with the armature winding, it is connected to the DC power supply. The excitation current of such a DC motor is the armature current.
4, compound excitation DC motor
The compound-excited DC motor has two excitation windings, shunt and series excitation. If the magnetomotive force generated by the series winding is the same as the direction of the magnetomotive force generated by the shunt winding, it is called product recombination. If the two magnetomotive forces are opposite in direction, they are called differential complex excitation.
DC motors with different excitation methods have different characteristics. In general, the main excitation modes of DC motors are shunt-type, series-excitation and compound-excitation. The main excitation methods of DC generators are the over-excitation, shunt-excitation and compound-excitation modes.
