1. Drying Method with a DC Welding Machine: The wiring for drying a DC welding machine is similar to that of an AC machine, but the ammeter connected in series should be a DC ammeter. Using a DC welding machine to dry a resistance-reducing motor is very convenient. It can be used for extended periods.
Note that when drying with a welding machine, all contacts must be in good contact and tightly closed. The welding machine's output wires should use dedicated conductors with cross-sectional dimensions sufficient to carry the output current. Pay attention to the cooling of the welding machine transformer to ensure the insulation resistance of the geared motor is not less than 0.1 MΩ. Closely monitor the temperature of the geared motor windings and adjust the voltage and current accordingly.
2. Drying Method with an AC Welding Machine
3. Drying Method with an Excitation Coil
4. External Heat Source Heating Method
Before operating the AC welding machine drying method, connect the six connectors of the wet gear reducer motor windings in series, ground the casing, and heat and dry the three sets of windings. To monitor the current changes during the drying process, an ammeter can be connected in series to observe whether the current data reaches 60%~70% of the basic rated voltage and current of the gear reducer motor. Heating ensures uniform heating of the coil structure. The drying method is relatively effective, but it is only suitable for geared motors below 100kW and cannot meet the requirements for long-term use. Using an AC welding machine to dry geared motors eliminates the need for disassembly and inspection, reducing workload. Simultaneously, when the power is on, the geared motor's own resistance... The excitation coil drying method involves winding the excitation coil around the stator coil core of the geared motor, connecting it to AC to generate magnetic flux within the stator, and relying on stator iron losses to dry the stator... First, disassemble the moisture-proof geared motor, then place a high-power incandescent bulb inside to bake it, or place the geared motor inside a dryer to dry it. It should be noted that this method is only suitable for small motors. During operation, the bulb... or heat source should not be too close to the offline coil to prevent coil combustion; insulation can be provided by covering the gearbox housing with canvas or similar materials.
