Its advantages are stable speed regulation, simple structure, and suitable for harsh environments. The disadvantages are small speed regulation range (generally within 1:10), and belt pulleys and friction disks are consumable parts that require regular maintenance and replacement.
The electrical type is to perform cascade speed regulation on asynchronous motors, rotor resistance speed regulation, or voltage regulation on DC motors.
